Aliya Mustafina addressed the rumors of the separation from her husband in her account on Instagram. She said that a month ago she officially got divorced from Alexei Zaitsev, a Russian bobsledder. The couple got married in November of 2016 and had a daughter, Alisa, in June 2017. In the past couple of months, Mustafina was often asked about her husband and if they are separated on her social media but until today she refused to answer any of those questions.
Mustafina wrote:
“Dear followers, I would very much like for you to get all the important information directly from me. That’s why I want to inform you that I have divorced a month ago. I will try to clear everything once and for all so that there wouldn’t be any questions or unnecessary speculations. There’s no specific reason, it’s just that my ex-husband turned out to be not my kind of person. We don’t have any claims to each other either. I love Alisa very much and I’m very grateful to Lyosha for our daughter. And I’m asking you not to mention this topic again”.
