Belyavskiy wants to pursue Masters in Sports Administration

David Belyavskiy applied this week to the Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg, his home city.  He wants to pursue Masters in Sports Administration.

Beliavskiy already holds an undergraduate degree in Sports Administration from the same university. Previously he was studying for the Masters’ degree in gymnastics coaching at the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sports and Health in St. Petersburg.  As a student at Lesgaft Belyavskiy participated at the 2013 Universiade in Kazan and won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Applying to UrFU might be a way to become eligible for another Universiade – if accepted, Belyavskiy would have officially become a student in the beginning of August, while the Universiade is at the end of August. On the other hand, it seems more likely that the gymnast would participate in the Russian Cup which is held in Ekaterinburg at the same time as the Universiade in Taibei. Beliavskiy is currently the most prominent gymnast from Ekaterinburg and the Federation is using him to promote the event.

Belyvskiy said to Izhlife.ru that he considers the Ural Federal University one of the best academic institutions in the Ural region and in Russia: “This university has its athletic history and I want to become a part of it. Generally, studying means personal development for me and that is why I am applying to UrFu today”.
