Elena Eremina has started training again

Vera Kiryashova, Elena Eremina’s personal coach, said to TASS that Eremina has started training again and will go to Spain for a training camp with the national team. Eremina had a spinal surgery only three months ago, so at the moment, her training is just conditioning. According to Kiryashova, she will surely miss this year’s Worlds:

“Lena has already started training. We came to a training camp at Round Lake and has started working. Of course, this can’t yet be called a proper training, for now, she’s doing legs and arms conditioning, pedaling on a stationary bike. She’s not touching the apparatuses. Right now she’s going to Mallorca to a training camp with the team. After that, there will be two courses of treatments in different medical centers. We’re planning that we’ll start training seriously from July 1st”.

“She’s not in any pain but more time is necessary for everything to heal. No one is going to rush the recovery so that’s why I think that Eremina will miss this season. But I don’t want to make predictions. Perhaps her recovery will go very fast and then anything can happen. But there’s no way she can compete at Worlds in Qatar because you have to have serious competition experience before you go the main competition of the season”.

Maria Paseka is also supposed to attend the training camp in Spain which will be her first national team camp since the spinal surgery.
