updated on June 27 with a comment from Evgeny Grebyonkin

Irina Alexeeva, who recently made the Russian national team and received the FIG license, will, unfortunately, miss the Russian Cup this week due to an injury. Alexeeva was seen wearing a knee brace in some recent photos from Round Lake. A representative of the Russian artistic gymnastics federation confirmed during a live Instagram stream, that Alexeeva suffered a knee injury and won’t be competing this week. There is no official information yet on how serious the injury is and whether Alexeeva will still be in the running for the Euros team.

Update: Evgeny Grebyonkin said to TASS that Alexeeva’s injury is an ankle sprain and that she still might be considered for the European Championships.
