Nabieva and Tutkhalian were added to the national team

At the beginning of the year, when Russia has announced its national team, three spots were left empty on the WAG reserve team. The coaches opted not to fill the spots after the Russian Championships and finally added three more gymnasts last week. Tatiana Nabieva, Seda Tutkhalian, and Polina Fedorova were added to the reserve team, means they will receive funding and can contend for international assignments.

Tatiana Nabieva has not received an international assignment since 2014 but was invited to camp last month is now in contention for a spot at the Universiade. Tutkhalian and Fedorova placed first and second respectively at the National Student Championships. Last month, Valentina Rodionenko said that Tatiana Nabieva and Lilia Akhaimova are the main contenders for the Universiade team, while Tutkhalian and Fedorova are competing for the last place.
