Valentina Rodionenko has announced the Russian team for the Universiade which will take place in Naples in July.

On MAG side, as was expected, the team consists of Ivan Stretovich, Kirill Prokopev, and Ilya Kibartas. On the WAG side, previously, Polina Fedorova and Seda Tutkhalian were in contention for the same spot. Tutkhalian had won gold in AA in the Student National Championships earlier this year, while Fedorova had won silver. According to Rodionenko, the final WAG team for the Universiade is Tatiana Nabieva, Lilia Akhaimova, and Polina Fedorova. For Nabieva, this will be the first international competition for Russia since 2014.

The national team gymnasts had a short break between training camps this week, after the selection for the upcoming competitions was completed. Some went home, some went on a mini vacation, and Kirill Prokopev got married. His wife, Alyona Andreeva, is a dancer and a former elite tumbling gymnast.
