2023 European Championships awarded to Turkey

The European Gymnastics Federation has announced that the 2023 European Championships will take place in Antalya, Turkey. This will be the first time European Championships will be hosted by Turkey. In 2021, Euros will take place in Basel, Switzerland, and in 2022, they will be held in Munich, Germany, as a part of the multi-sport European Championships like the 2015 edition.

Turkish gymnastics is currently on the rise, with three gymnasts winning medals at European and World level last year. Ferhat Arican won bronze on parallel bars at both European Championships and European Games, Ahmet Onder won silver on high bar at the European Games and silver on parallel bars at the World Championships, and Ibrahim Colak won Turkey’s first ever World gold medal on rings. All three will represent Turkey at the Tokyo Olympics.

Antalya is a resort city on the Mediterranean coast in the Asian part of Turkey, so, the fans who want to attend the competition might combine it with a nice beach vacation.
