Andrei Rodionenko’s third test for COVID-19 came back negative

Valentina Rodionenko told the media that the third COVID-19 test of her husband Andrei Rodionenko, the head coach of Russian artistic gymnastics national team came back negative.

Rodionenko was one of the four people at the Novogorsk training center who tested positive for the virus, the other three were gymnast Sergei Naidin and two center’s staff members. Rodionenko was sent to home quarantine and his second test came back negative. Naidin, however, was hospitalized and is supposed to take the second test today.

Valentina Rodionenko told R-Sport:

“He did the test yesterday, today it came – negative again. They say that sometimes, there are false results. Let’s say we were unlucky the first time.”

All members of the national team were tested at the training center together with Rodionenko and Naidin and are now in home quarantine. It is not clear where there were any repeat tests after they entered the quarantine.
