Artur Dalaloyan on dealing with the quarantine

Artur Dalaloyan who earlier criticised the national team’s decision to hold a camp during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now quarantined at home just as the rest of his teammates after the camp has been abruptly canceled.

Dalaloyan told Match TV he’s trying to keep in shape and even surprised himself by adhering to the training program. However, as many people around the world, he can’t help but worry about the situation.

“I’ve been quarantined for six days already. The thing is that we had a camp in Novogorsk, or, rather, it wasn’t even able to start. When we were tested for the coronavirus, two positive results were discovered and it was decided to stop the camp, we were sent home.”

“I feel energetic, I’m training. I’ve just finished another workout. I can actually praise myself because normally, when I get home, I just rest and relax, forgetting all about the gym and training. Of course, the things I’m doing now are now the elements you can do at the gym but, at least, there are some basic elements that you can do even at home. For example, such a basic exercise as a salto backwards, you can do ten repetitions.”

Dalaloyan posted some videos of his training at home. While there were gymnasts who got rings or pommel horse installed at their homes for quarantine training, Dalaloyan got parallel bars delivered to his apartment.

Dalaloyan finds it especially hard to be separated from his family:

“It’s really hard not to see your family, not to be with them, especially when you are able to give them all your attention. And, of course, the virus is spreading and spreading. It’s a hard time.”
