Russian Ministry of Sports awarded Artur Dalaloyan the rank of Merited Master of Sport. This is the highest rank in the Russian Sport Classification and is normally awarded winning a medal of any color at the Olympics or a gold medal at Worlds (or for a combination of several medals at major international events). Dalaloyan would’ve gotten this rank even without his golds at Worlds since last year, he also won three golds at Euros. The rank doesn’t come with a monetary award but will result in higher salary and additional benefits such as exemption from some taxes, higher pension after retirement, scholarships for higher education and so on.
