David Belyavskiy was the top qualifier on parallel bars at the European Championships but in the event final, he made some mistakes and got a lower score, while his teammate Artur Dalaloyan executed his routine very well and moved into the first place. Belyavskiy told the media that he was disappointed with not being able to do his best in the final:
“I’m upset because I didn’t do what I can. But the second place didn’t upset me, of course. I was rushing a bit, I got nervous. I’m happy with the competition, I felt that already after the first day. Today we were having fun out there because we have already achieved the main goal – the gold in the team final”.
Belyavskiy said he will only have five days at home before he needs to go to the next training camp:
“I’ll fly home now, I’ll only be five days there. This will be enough to recover the strength and emotions, we do this all the time: we rest for a week after competitions and keep training”.
