Cintia Rodriguez won the all-around at the Israeli Championships

Open WAG Israeli Championships took place today in Tel Aviv. In addition to the local gymnasts, several international guests participated as well – Cintia Rodriguez from Spain and Ana Derek and Petra Furac from Croatia. Furac replaced Christina Zwicker who originally was on the roster for this competition.

Ofir Netzer was looking to repeat her all-around win from last year, especially after more than half a year of training in Spain with Pedro Mir. Unfortunately, she got injured on vault in the first rotation and had to withdraw from the rest of the competition.

Tsuf Feldon and Gaya Giladi were able to return to the competition after a long recovery from injuries. Feldon, a World Cup medalist, competed only on beam and, unfortunately, had two falls. Giladi finished 5th in the all-around but won gold on floor and bronze on beam.

Ana Derek and Cintia Rodriguez were the stars of the competition today, each winning several medals. Rodriguez took gold in the all-around with 49.45 and also gold on bars and silver on beam and floor. Derek won silver in the all-around (48.4) and gold on beam and floor.

The competition continues tomorrow and senior men will start competing at 16:30 local time. The Israeli gymnastics federation is expected to stream the competition on their Facebook page.
