The crowd favorites Coline Devillard of France and Eythora Thorsdottir of Netherlands will have to miss the upcoming World Championships because of their injuries.
Thorsdottir broke her hand at the last practice before leaving for the European Championships in Glasgow. On her Instagram, she said that she’s not fully recovered yet and will need more time to return to competitions.
Coline Devillard injured her ankle this week and will have to miss both Paris World Cup and the World Championships. France has been quite lucky this season until now, they came to Euros with their A team, while many other European countries suffered losses of their top gymnasts due to injuries. However, replacing Devillard, their best vaulter, will be quite hard.
Coline Devillard, récemment blessée au niveau de la cheville, sera immobilisée pendant un certain temps. Elle sera donc malheureusement forfait lors des Internationaux de France 2018 et ne pourra pas participer au championnat du monde de Doha.
