David Belyavskiy became a father last week – he officially announced this on his Instagram.
David’s wife Maria gave birth to a daughter. The baby’s name is Alyssia. This is a more international version of the Russian name Alisa – the name of Aliya’s daughter and also one of the ten most popular Russian names for newborn girls in 2017.
Belyavskiy is also opening a gym in his native city – Yekaterinburg. It will be a part of a new chain of gyms for children that aim to make gymnastics popular among Russian kids again. Belyavskiy said that talented kids will receive scholarships and will be able to train for free.
