After the 2020 Olympics were postponed for another year, the FIG announced that the 2021 World Championships would still be held despite the fact that normally, there are no Worlds in Olympic years. The competition was supposed to take place in Copenhagen. However, today, the FIG has announced that Denmark withdrew from hosting the 2021 Worlds. At the moment, the competition is not cancelled the federation is considering looking for a new host. The FIG wrote that the executive committee “will shortly consider all consequences resulting from this situation, including the launch of a new bidding procedure for this event”.
The 2020 Swiss Cup, an invitational with lucrative prizes, has also been cancelled. The Swiss Federation announced the cancellation today and said the next Swiss Cup will take place in November of 2021.

In addition, earlier this week, the FIG announced the new dates for the Doha World Cup, the last of the Olympic-qualifying World Apparatus Cup series. Originally, the 2020 competition was postponed until June. It is now slated for March 10-13, 2021.
