Ellie Black: We’re taking slow steps

Ellie Black sustained an ankle injury during the all-around final at the 2019 World Championships. The injury required a surgery in October and the recovery has been slow but Black plans on being ready by the Olympics.

She told Yahoo news that she’s started training bars again:

“The past two months it’s just been getting my range of motion back and getting the strength back in my leg and ankle to get better mobility. I can swing on bars now, but we’re taking slow steps. Other events are still going to take some time.”

Black said the next big competition she’s preparing for will be the Canadian Championships in late May which will serve as the trials for the Olympic team.
