Germany withdrew from AG and RG Euros

The German Gymnastics Federation has announced they will not participate in the European Championships this year – that includes the rhythmic gymnastics competition in Kiev in November and artistic gymnastics MAG and WAG championships in Mersin in December. While Germany has resumed gymnastics competitions at home and even foreign athletes were able to come to Germany to compete for their clubs in the Bundesliga, the federation is not willing to send their gymnasts to competitions in other countries. In addition, neither RG or AG championships this year will serve as Olympic qualifiers, making the decision easier.

Earlier, Great Britain pulled out of the artistic gymnastics Euros due to health considerations, while Armenia decided to boycott the competition because it is being held in Turkey. Russia pulled out of the RG Euros in Kiev but they still plan on attending the artistic gymnastics competition.
