Dana Duckworth, the head coach of the University of Alabama’s women’s gymnastics team, has announced this week that Ryan Roberts will be joining the staff as an assistant coach. He will be replacing Bryan Raschilla whose contract was not renewed.
Ryan Roberts has been working at WOGA for the past years and recently he’s been coaching Irina Alexeeva who just made the Russian national team. He even traveled with her to the Russian Championships in April. Since, as a national team member, Alexeeva will be spending most of the year at Round Lake, she likely wouldn’t be able to continue training with Roberts anyway. However, Alexeeva is not currently officially committed to any college and is still keeping her sights on NCAA, so it might mean she’ll be leaning towards Alabama when choosing her college.
