Karimi: I expected to do worse at Asian Games

Milad Karimi competed at his first international competition since the Melbourne World Cup where he suffered an arm injury.

Not only Karimi has managed to recover in quite a short time, he even competed on high bar, an arm event, and managed to qualify to the final on it. He took fifth place in the floor final and is now preparing for Worlds, hoping to make the floor final there again.

Karimi  talked to Sputniknews.kz that about competing at Asian Games:

“I achieved my goal, I’m happy with my performance even though I haven’t won any medals. I haven’t competed at international competitions for about half a year because of my injury. Honestly, I expected to do worse. I’m glad that everyone liked my high bar routine. It was nice to hear the applause”.

Karimi has been quite outspoken about the conditions in which Kazakhstan’s team normally trains and he said that things have been getting a bit better lately – the team now has a doctor and a physical therapist on staff.
