Khorkina hopes to get a medal at Winter Universiade

While Simone Biles is breaking Svetlana Khorkina’s medal records in gymnastics, Khorkina decided she might set some new records, this time in winter sports. As we reported before, Svetlana Khorkina is currently a coach on the Russian national speedskating team and an ambassador for the 2019 Winter Universiade that will take place in Krasnoyarsk.

Apparently, she believes that being an ambassador is a competition and the winner will get a medal, too! Today, at the unveiling of the Universiade medals, Khorkina said to the media:

“I really hope that I will get a medal as the most active ambassador. The medals are really pretty. I’ve never seen such medals in my whole career and I’m really proud that these are our medals, Russian”.
