Lankin hopes to come back to training fast

Dmitrii Lankin’s training before the Russian Championships was limited by an injury and he ended up withdrawing from all event finals except vault where he won bronze. He has surgery scheduled on March 23rd and he told R-Sport he plans on coming back quite fast:

“A spur grew on my heel and it’s rubbing on the Achilles tendon. So, any kind of training becomes difficult. There aren’t any options to prepare for the European Championships. The most important thing is to take care of my health, especially since the important competitions are still ahead. I think that I’ll be able to start training a bit two or three days after the surgery and I guess I’ll start tumbling two or three weeks later.”
