The Chinese women’s national team has begun the selection process for their World Championships team, who will compete in Stuttgart, Germany this October. A verification camp was hosted at the Chinese National Training Center in Beijing.
Newcomer Li Shijia finished first place in the all around standings with a 58.533; Beam World Champion, Liu Tingting finished second with a 57.567; and world medallist, Zhang Jin finished third with a 56.833.
After the competition, Liu Tingting stated, “Today’s overall performance was good, especially vault. I increased my difficulty, and I have more confidence”. Since 2017, Liu has only been performing a full twisting Yurchenko, however she upgraded to a double twisting Yurchenko for the verification camp. “Although I’m still lacking in some places, I hope to do better at the next verification camp!”
