Melnikova will unveil new floor and beam routines in Minsk

Angelina Melnikova potentially can qualify to all the finals at the upcoming European Games and will likely leave the competition with more than one medal. She said to R-Sport that she will test her new beam and floor routines at the competition as a part of her preparation for Worlds:

“At the European Games, I want to test beam because we have almost completely changed the routine. Because I had a lot of issues on this event, we are looking for options, changing the elements, the composition, the choreography. First of all, I want to see how the judges will score my new work. I also have a new floor routine, with different music, so the European Games will give a good chance to try the changed routines. I didn’t downgrade the difficulty [on floor], it will stay the same. So, it will be a different wrapping but the filling is the same, this is interesting. I always like trying something new.”

Melnikova said that her main goal for the Games is to stay consistent. She stayed at Round Lake during the break between camps to work on her preparation and hopes she will get in the optimum shape in the weeks that are left until the competition. Her new floor routine was choreographed by Ksenia Afanasyeva, the 2011 World champion on this event.
