Milad Karimi who suffered an arm injury at the Melbourn Would Cup is surely recovering faster than expected. He’s already competing on floor and won silver on this event at the Kazakhstan national championships a couple of weeks ago. He’s also already posting videos of training on high bar. At the moment he is preparing for the Asian Games and talked to Olympic.kz about his recovery:
“After the fall, there is a bit of self-doubt. But this will all pass and gymnastics is in itself an injury-prone sport. The recovery process is in full swing. I’ll try to be more careful. If we’re talking about my health, everything’s well now. I’ve started training already and competed at the national championships. I decided not to risk my health and did an easier routine there”.
“I was recovering for four months during which I did everything to come back as soon as possible. I wanted to become a champion again and to compete on the international level. A lot of people helped me after the injury. But I want to express special gratitude to the Australian coach. After the surgery, I stayed in his home because I couldn’t go through a 16-hour flight. He helped me with everything and gave everything I needed at the time”.
“Now I’m back and my first international competition after the injury will be the Summer Asian Games. I want to compete well in Jakarta”.
