Valentina Rodionenko said to TASS that Aliya Mustafina will miss the national team training camp in Spain. The team left for Spain today and the camp will last till May 16th. Mustafina likely didn’t want to be away from her daughter for so long especially since she just came back from the Russian Championships and will also go to a World Cup in Osijek at the end of May.
Rodionenko said:
“Mustafina has an individual training plan and the training camp in Spain does not fit into it. It was decided in advance that she would not go to Spain with the team. She’ll keep training at Round Lake and in Penza in order to get in shape better”.
