Simone Biles had an unexpected stumble right before the WAG qualifications start at the World Championships in Doha.
Biles had to visit ER due to pain from a kidney stone. According to Nick Zaccardi, at 1:15 a.m. today she was still waiting to be discharged while the subdivision in which she competes today starts at 11 a.m. local time. Biles posted several photos from the ER and said that she will still compete despite the kidney stone. It is not clear how serious the issue is and whether it will affect her performance. We know, however, that she is pretty much a superhuman and has been competing on a broken toe for the past few months, so I don’t expect that any kidney stone can stop her.
nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hrs before world championships
