Nikolai Kuksenkov will miss Toyota Cup due to an injury

Nikolai Kuksenkov has announced on his Instagram that he had to withdraw from the upcoming Toyota Cup in Japan due to a back injury.

The competition takes place this weekend and Kuksenkov was slated to participate alongside Nikita Nagornyy and Vladislav Poliashov. Kuksenkov has had a string of injuries since the Rio Olympics and was still recovering from the shoulder injury he got last year.

He said:

“Dear friends, right before leaving for Japan for Toyota Cup, I injured my back. I don’t feel so well, I barely move. Yesterday, the team doctor and I went to the hospital for a diagnosis because without that I wouldn’t be able to return my ticket. Obviously, I’m not traveling anywhere now. Unfortunately, this year is not ending so well. Alas! For now, I don’t know how serious it is. I hope I’ll see you soon”.
