Dalaloyan: I’m like Rambo or even better

Artur Dalaloyan participated in TeamRussia’s project in which athletes wore theatrical makeup to look like famous characters. Dalaloyan chose John Rambo as the character he wanted to portray. He explained:

“When I was a child, he was my superhero. It was very inspiring that he was invincible, he defeated whole armies by himself, he could survive in any kind of conditions. Not once he was shown doubting himself. He always found ways to fight, to move forward, nothing could stop him. Rain, hail, sleet, and snow – no matter what he always had a calm face and composure, and this just stirred something in me. I wanted to be like him. Artistic gymnastics is the kind of sport where you have to tolerate pain every day. The human body is not made of steel and every athlete has injuries with which they still need to compete and move forward. In that sense, I’m Rambo or even better than him.”
