Denis Abliazin hopes to compete at the Russian Championships

Denis Abliazin underwent surgery on both legs in November, after an old injury got aggravated in practice and he suffered multiple fractures. He has returned to training in early December, working on his upper body strength while he was still not allowed to put any weight on his legs.

He told R-Sport he has been already allowed to walk without crutches and plans to lower body training soon. He hopes to be ready to compete at the Russian Championships, which will take place in the middle of April in Penza and will serve as one of the stages of the Euros team selection:

“I’m already walking without crutches now. I think, I’ll be allowed to run and tumble starting February. Right now, I’m fully working only on my upper body, I don’t do leg conditioning because I’m not allowed to do squats yet. In a week, I’ll be ready to work on rings and do my power elements. I’ll be fully ready by the Russian Championships.”
