Larisa Iordache had a few years of bad luck – not being able to help her team to qualify to Rio at the test event due to an injury, getting injured again at the 2017 Worlds and then having two unsuccessful surgeries to repair her Achilles. The third surgery seemed to finally work as Iordache announced she has been cleared to start full training again.
After all… this amazing doctor told me “Larisa, you can begin! BUT easy!” Sooo🙈 I hope this time everything will be great! easy, easy but safe! #patience ❤️ pic.twitter.com/RfawuF2BZP

According to an interview with Andreea Raducan, the current Romanian Gymnastics Federation president, Iordache will train with Octavian Belu and Mariana Bitang instead of her previous coach and will try to prepare one or two events for the upcoming European Championships.

What
She is not average even for [older] romanian gymnasts…
Never got the hype around Larisa, very average gymnast in a typical Romanian style
At first I would’ve agreed with you, but around 2014 she really came into her own, became more elegant, more expressive and more passionate for the sport. Then she got plagued with injuries and we saw the side of her that will always get back up when she gets knocked down. I hope that she could get a happy ending to the sport, she has worked too hard for it to end with an Achilles tear in a warm up. The love of her is a confluence of gymnastics AND the tenacity and authenticity in her personality.
