The Open Israeli Championships will take place this weekend in Tel Aviv and, in addition to the local gymnasts, will feature a number of international guests.
In the men’s competition, the field will be especially strong. All the best Israeli gymnasts are expected to compete, including Alexander Shatilov, Artem Dolgopyat, and Andrey Medvedev. They will be joined by Oleg Verniaiev and Petro Pakhniuk from Ukraine, Artur Davtyan and Vahagn Davtyan from Armenia, Nicolau Mir from Spain, Robert Tvorogal and Tomas Kuzmickas from Lithuania and Marko Sambolec from Croatia.
Ofir Netzer came back from Spain where she currently lives and trains to compete at the Israeli Championships and try to win the all-around title again. She will be joined by her club teammate Cintia Rodriguez and two Croatian gymnasts, Ana Derek and Christina Zwicker. We might also see the return of Gaya Giladi, a promising Israeli gymnast who was sidelined by injuries for a long time.
The one day of competition will serve as both the all-around final and the event finals.
There is no live stream for the competition but we will be posting photo and video updates on our Instagram and will upload full routines on Youtube.
