Maria Paseka continued our beloved saga of “will she/won’t she compete at Worlds” contradicting the words of Valentina Rodionenko about a possible recovery in time for this year’s Worlds. She said to media today that she’d rather keep her back healthy in order to stay in gymnastics till Tokyo-2020:
“I’m good, I’m slowly conditioning, turning my fat into the muscles [laughs]. My coaches don’t allow me to vault yet. I’ll start in May or in the beginning of June, we’re going to a camp in Spain, I want to slowly start [vaulting] there. I don’t want to make predictions but I think I’ll refuse [to go to Worlds]. Let people scold me but I’m worried about my back. I want to get to the Olympics Games and it’s enough to be a two-time World champion”.
