Rodionenko: Maria Paseka might recover in time for Worlds

Our favorite Russian show of “will she/won’t she compete” continues with Maria Paseka and Valentina Rodionenko making a bunch of claims that directly contradict each other.

Here’s what happened in the previous episodes:

Maria Paseka had a back surgery and she would need 7-9 months for recovery and miss the 2018 season entirely.

At the end of December, Valentina Rodionenko said Paseka will start training again in 6 months.

At the end of February, Valentina Rodionenko said Paseka will start training in May (less than 5 months after the surgery) and could be ready to compete in time for Euros (in August).

In March, Maria Paseka said that she will miss the 2018 season entirely.

Today, Valentina Rodionenko told TASS that Paseka now might recover in time for Worlds:

“Elena Eremina had to have a surgery but everything will be fine judging by how her recovery is going. We don’t need to rush, she’ll miss this year’s Worlds, but it’s ok. Paseka is also fine, she’ll start training in May. There’s still a question mark regarding her participation at Worlds, we’ll see when she starts training. It’s entirely possible that she will recover in time”.

On the next episode of this fascinating show, we’ll probably learn that Paseka will compete at the Russian Cup and do a triple-twisting Yurchenko there.
