Zsofia Kovacs will miss Euros because of an injury

Zsofia Kovacs, the reigning European silver all-around medalist, will have to miss the upcoming Euros due to an abdominal tear. She and her coach talked to Hungarian news, saying that Kovacs will have to stay completely out of training for three-four weeks until the tear heals. That also puts her preparation for Worlds somewhat in jeopardy as she will not have much time to get back to her top shape before the competition starts but for now, Kovacs is planning to attend Worlds. It will be crucial for the Hungarian team to have Kovacs back in time for Worlds, as Hungary will surely try to get into top-24 teams in order to qualify a full team to the 2019 Worlds.

Zsofia Kovacs had a great beginning of the season last year, winning silver in the all-around and making three event finals at the European Championships. However, an injury later prevented her from having a great competition at Worlds and she only finished 29th in qualification and missed the all-around final.
